In recent research commissioned by rapport and City Press newspapers on South Africa’s Icon Brands,
Dunlop was voted number 1 in the category of Tyre Manufacturers.

The research is not based on awareness or liking, but on brands that consumers are committed to in the
very real sense of putting their hard-earned cash towards.

In compiling the data, TGI SA conducted over 15 000 face-to-face interviews with South African consumers
Living in communities with a population size of over 8 000.

The research results were published in Rapport and City Press on the 08th of August reaching a readership
Of over 3.5 million people with a combined buying power of 26 billion rand per month. Dunlop supported
The announcement of results with advertising thanking the consumers for elevating us to the number one
Spot.

Dunlop's Driven by Precision positioning makes a bold statement about the level of expertise, attention to detail and technology that goes into making Dunlop tyres. Last year's 'precision driving' TV commercial that launched the Driven by Precision positioning for the Dunlop brand was one of the largest commercials ever filmed in Cape Town, and the result certainly got everyone talking.
